Terms of Service

Welcome to PictoPlace! These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you ("User") and PictoPlace Studios ("we", "us", "our") governing your use of the PictoPlace mobile game application, website, and all related services. By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Eligibility — Age Requirement

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• Users between 13 and 18 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
• We verify age at account creation by asking for your date of birth.
• Providing false age information is a violation of these Terms.

2. Description of Service

PictoPlace is a visual puzzle mobile game where players identify Israeli cities, landmarks, idioms, and cultural references from images. The App includes:

• Image-based puzzles (some generated by Google Gemini AI)
• Hint system, progress tracking, achievements
• Weekly challenges and daily login rewards
• Friends, leaderboards, and social features
• In-app purchases for hint bundles and coin packs
• Rewarded video ads via Google AdMob

3. User Accounts

You can play as a Guest (limited features, local data) or create a Registered account. You are responsible for maintaining account security and for all activities under your account. One account per person. You may not transfer or share your account.

You can delete your account at any time through Settings → Account Management → Delete Account, or via our web deletion form.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the App
• Use bots, scripts, macros, or emulators
• Attempt unauthorized access to our servers or other users' accounts
• Exploit bugs or glitches for unfair advantage
• Sell, trade, or transfer accounts, virtual items, or in-game currency outside Google Play
• Use the App for illegal purposes or to violate any laws
• Harass, threaten, impersonate, or defame other users
• Use the App if you are under 13 or misrepresent your age

5. Virtual Currency and Virtual Items

Important: In-game coins, hint tokens, and similar virtual items are digital goods with no monetary value in the real world. They cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred outside the App. They are licensed to you, not sold.

• Virtual currency cannot be transferred between accounts
• Account termination forfeits all virtual items with no refund
• We may adjust balances if we detect fraud or bug exploitation

6. In-App Purchases and Refunds

All in-app purchases are processed through Google Play Billing. We never see your payment details. Prices may vary by region and are subject to change.

Refund Policy: All in-app purchases are generally final and non-refundable, except where required by applicable consumer protection law. For Israeli residents, the Consumer Protection Law 5741-1981 provides a 14-day cooling-off period for digital services that have not yet been used or consumed.

Refund requests must be submitted through Google Play's refund system. Contact Google Play Support for payment-related issues.

7. Advertisements

The App displays advertisements through Google AdMob. Ads are rated Teen (T) and not directed at children under 13. You may watch rewarded ads to earn in-game coins, and you may opt out of personalized advertising via the in-app consent dialog or device settings.

8. Intellectual Property

PictoPlace, including all content, features, code, graphics, puzzles, images (including AI-generated images), and associated intellectual property rights, are owned by PictoPlace Studios or our licensors and protected by international copyright and trademark laws.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial entertainment purposes.

9. AI-Generated Content

Some puzzle images in the App are generated using Google Gemini AI. AI is used for visual puzzle content only and has been reviewed for appropriateness. We do not use AI for user profiling or automated account decisions. Report problematic AI content to pictoplaceinfo@gmail.com.

10. Privacy

Your use of the App is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

11. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, error correction, device compatibility, or content accuracy.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PictoPlace Studios shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the greater of (a) amounts you paid us in the last 12 months, or (b) $50 USD. Some jurisdictions do not allow such limitations, so these may not apply to you.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel. Any dispute shall be resolved exclusively in the competent courts of Tel Aviv-Jaffa, Israel.

For consumers: Nothing in this section shall deprive you of the protections of any non-waivable consumer protection laws of your country of residence, including the Israeli Consumer Protection Law 5741-1981.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via in-app notification and an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
